AS PRÁTICAS DE LEITURA E PRODUÇÃO TEXTUAL DOS DISCENTES DO ENSINO SUPERIOR Andreia Rezende Garcia Reis1 Míriam Esther de Mendonça2
ABSTRACT
Reading and writing practices are very frequent in undergraduate courses among the several colleges in Brazil, and it is so in Faculdade Metodista Granbery. However, professors usually have to deal with situations in which students refuse to engage in academic tasks which involve the reading and production of academic texts, as well as oral presentations related to the subjects studied alongside the courses. This paper aims to discuss, among other related topics, the cause of such refusal in engaging in practices of academic reading, writing and lecturing in the environment of Faculdade Metodista Granbery. The analyses are based on the observation of such practices and on the discussion of their effects with professors and students, mainly those belonging to the Education department. Through such analyses, we aim not only to understand the factors involved in such tense situation, but also to act towards a more reflexive practice of the actors of higher education. Práticas de leitura e escrita são atividades muito frequentes nos cursos de graduação das diversas instituições de Ensino Superior do país, e isso não seria diferente na Faculdade Metodista Granbery. No entanto, os docentes deparam-se constantemente com a recusa dos discentes na realização de tarefas que envolvem a leitura, a produção de textos acadêmicos e a exposição oral de temas relacionados aos conteúdos das disciplinas.
