Nadia- Hello! We are going to present you our work about a world of many languages. In this work we are going to talk about the importance of English in our lives, in our world.
Daniel-For this presentation we prepared a PowerPoint file, for you to follow our topics during our presentation.
Nadia- the English language is very important, by some reason, children learn English since their 6 year-old.
Daniel-Every day we are bombarded by English words all over the place. By the internet, Books, films, series, documentaries, etc. After all, our favourite series are in English, aren’t they? What’s your favourite film?
Nadia-About 52 countries in the world have the English language as their mother language. Superpowers like U.S.A, Great Britain, Canada, India and Australia. As well as small countries from Africa.
Daniel- With the financial crises that is happening in our country, we can face the possibility to go abroad, and for this the English language will help. Like we learnt in the previous unit, English is a global language.
Nadia- English is taught all over the world except in some areas of some developing countries. This allows people from different nationalities to talk to each other. Have you ever talked in English with a person that doesn’t have the English as its mother language? Daniel- In the bible, God made the great variety of languages, because of the construction of the Tower of Babel, and now, like a way to defy God, we invented a way for we to understand each other. Nadia- Because of our technological advance, we need a way for our documents and information that is on the internet to be translated for other persons to understand and that language is usually the English. Daniel- If all the people in the world could learn this language, they would have access to all of the information about everything they wanted, by accessing the WWW. Without wasting time and money buying books or other way of finding information besides the internet.
