CHILD AND THE DEATH: THE HEALTHY MOURNING

RESUMO

O tema da morte é considerado em nossa sociedade um tabu, fazemos parte de uma sociedade negadora da morte, na qual evita-se falar abertamente sobre este tema principalmente com crianças, existe a crença de que estas não podem compreender bem este tema. No entanto este artigo vem para mostrar que a criança durante seu desenvolvimento cognitivo e emocional e com um ambiente sustentador vai criando possibilidades de compreender e vivenciar o luto de uma maneira saudável. Este artigo apresenta primeiramente a evolução do conceito da morte num contexto histórico-cultural, apresenta em seguida algumas considerações a respeito do desenvolvimento do conceito de morte na criança explicitando como a criança vivencia a experiência de morte e finalmente as influencias do meio para o desenvolvimento de um luto sadio. ABSTRACT

The subject of the death is considered in our society a subject taboo. We make part of a society that denies the death and ovoid talking about this, mainly with children. The is a belief that children cannot understand this subject very well. However, this article cones to show to that children can create potentialities during their cognitive and emotional development, no understand and live the mourning in a healthy wouy. First, this article presents the evolution death concepts in a historical and cultural context. In a second time, this article presents considerations about the progress of deaths concept in the child, showing how children live the death experience.
