THE DEBATE OF CONTEMPORARY SUPERVISED ABSTRACT The extent of training and professional identity has been subject of study in Social Work from the 80 with the new curriculum guidelines for vocational training. There needs to be a critical reflection on the new challenges of their profession in a broad perspective of work and dealing with the issues imposed on a conscientious and effective practice. The theme is of paramount importance, since it is directly in the process of training, especially in supervised training that outlines the impetus that categorically allows the trainee to guide their future actions in ethics and, especially, to break with the misleading and stigmatizing view that "the theory in practice is another.
