Today we’re going to give a presentation on the topic “Teens and Gadgets”. We’ve divided our presentation into 3 parts. First we’ll explain what gadgets are by giving some examples of them, then we’ll move on to the effects of gadgets on teens and we’ll finish with some facts.
Ok, let’s start with the first part.

So, these are some examples of gadgets: computer, mobile phone, mp3 and cameras.

Nowadays, almost all teenagers have an iPod, MP3, a mobile phone or a computer. But the most common teen gadget is a mobile phone because right now it can do much more than just calls. Some have really sophisticated extras. I mean, high resolution cameras and Internet access, for example. It seems that every year a new version of a game or a mobile phone or a computer is released, so there is a constant race to get the latest version. Therefore, peer pressure also makes it important to teenagers, in order to be accepted by the majority.

Negative effects
Now, let’s talk about the negative effects of gadgets on teenagers.
In the past, children and young people filled up their free time by reading books, socializing, or engaging in active, creative play. If a teenager get addicted to gadgets, he will reduce his participation in of all these, especially the aspect of creativity. Digital worlds can be vast, but they are always structured, not requiring the imagination. Some children become less creative and less able to entertain themselves.
DIAPOSITIVO 5 It is easy to become addicted to texting, talking on the phone or socializing online. Some students may attempt to do this in class, which difficult their learning, and at home it detracts from study time. Kids putting in long hours on their gadgets will give less attention to assignments and may be irritable when they are away from their gadgets.
