Abstract Some of the innumerable transformations regarding music poetics installed along the Twentieth Century relate to sound, which is now presented to the composer in its most intrinsic nuances and qualities, and hearing, understood as something that goes beyond the ‘mere’ act of reception. In that context, both the issues on electro-acoustic music and acoustic ecology reveal other forms of relationship between hearing, sound, and creation, carrying out, according to François Delalande’s words, a ‘real pedagogical revolution’.
