RESUMO
Apesar do declínio verificado em algumas regiões do país, o câncer gástrico ainda representa importantes índices de morbidade e mortalidade. O surgimento deste tumor pode ser de origem infecciosa, genética ou ambiental, sendo a dieta um dos principais fatores de risco para o surgimento do câncer gástrico. Os tratamentos utilizados nesses pacientes são muitos agressivos, causando um alto efeito colateral, sabe-se que a desnutrição energético-protéico está presente na grande maioria dos pacientes, tornando importante a terapia nutricional no pré-operatório e no pós operatório a fim de diminuir ou reverter os efeitos colaterais por conseqüência ao tratamento, diminuindo o tempo de internação e dos riscos de algumas complicações pós-operatória. STOMACH CANCER: THE IMPORT OF NUTRITION THERAPY
ABSTRACT
Although the decline verified in some regions of the country, the gastric cancer still represents important indices of morbidity and mortality. The sprouting of this tumor can be of infectious, genetic or ambient origin, being diet one of the main factors of risk for the sprouting of the gastric cancer. The treatments used in these patients are many aggressive ones, causing one high collateral effect, know that the malnutrition energy-protein is present in the great majority of the patients, becoming important the nutrition therapy in the daily pay-operation and the one after-operation in order to diminish or to revert the collateral effect for consequence to the treatment, being diminished the time of
