RESUMO

Diante da necessidade de formar cidadãos conscientes do seu papel como agente transformador do meio onde vive, a Educação Ambiental no espaço escolar mostra-se como uma possibilidade de difundir a prática ambiental. Dessa forma, o trabalho procurou analisar o nível de consciência dos alunos de uma escola pública municipal constatando-se assim que estes possuem conhecimento abaixo do esperado.

ABSTRACT
Faced with the need to educate citizens aware of their role as a transforming agent from the environment where he lives, the Environmental Education in the school shows up as a possibility of spreading the environmental practice. Thus, the study sought to analyze the level of awareness of students of a public school is just noting that they have basic knowledge, but very vague.
