Summary
Logistics can be defined as the junction of four basic activities: the acquisition, handling, storage and delivery of products, also related to the functions of manufacturing and marketing. Logistics is also a part of Supply Chain Management that plans, implements and controls the flow and storage efficient and economical use of raw materials, semi-finished materials and finished products, as well as the related information from point of origin to the point of consumption, in order to meet customer requirements. There are several types of organizations, whether private or public, that use logistics services for operating and administrative, to address the planning and implementation of development projects, acquisition, storage, transportation, distribution, repair, maintenance and disposal of materials.
