Abstract

This article presents the conceptual definitions adopted in the preparation of the Landscape
Project, part of the Urbanization Project of the shoreline of Pontal do Paraná, as well as the strategies to be adopted in this preparation and its subsequent implementation. While the urbanization project is being prepared by the Prefecture of Pontal do Paraná team, the landscaping project is being conducted by the Office of Architecture and Plannin of UFPRSetor Litoral (Littoral Section), within an institutional partnership.
The conceptual definitions are centered on the principles of use of native species and search for balance between urban occupation and environment. This balance will be sought through the adoption of the principle of sustainability of symbolic systems, concept in elaboration that contains in its logic the mutual complementation between the aesthetic, material, psychological and environmental notions, transcending, in relation to the notions of development and sustainability, the materialistic dominant approaches.
The landscape design will comprise the landscaping of the urbanized area (promenade) and the actions to revitalize the adjacent sandbank as a form of environmental compensation for the proposed interventions on the waterfront.
The project work will be complemented by actions to monitor its implementation and development, which could result in adjustments and additions. Beyond that, educational actions and qualitative surveys within the local population will be developed.
All steps will be systematized in the form of subsequent articles to be published, so that it will be possible to know and follow their development with the respective problematizations.
