RESUMO

A Disfunção Temporomandibular (DTM) pode ser definida como um conjunto de manifestações clínicas de má função mandibular, associadas ou não à dor, que são geradas por agentes agressores à integridade morfológica ou funcional do Sistema
Temporomandibular. A etiologia das disfunções temporomandibulares é multifatorial, podendo contribuir como fatores de risco: estruturas, funções, oclusão, estresse, trauma e hipermobilidade. O diagnóstico da DTM, após a anamnese, é realizado por meio de exames clínico, radiográficos e ressonância magnética. O objetivo deste trabalho é divulgar um caso clínico sobre Disfunção Temporomandibular, bem como suas causas, consequências e possíveis tratamentos, proporcionando assim, os melhores resultados possíveis para o paciente.

ABSTRACT

Temporomandibular Disorder (TMD) can be defined as a set of clinical manifestations of poor mandibular function, associated or not with pain, which are generated by aggressors morphological and functional integrity of the Temporomandibular System.
The etiology of temporomandibular disorders is multifactorial and may contribute as risk factors: structure, function, occlusion, stress, trauma and hypermobility. The diagnosis of TMD, after the interview is done by means of clinical, radiographic and magnetic resonance imaging. The objective of this work is to promote a case of
Temporomandibular Disorders and their causes, consequences and possible treatments, thus

providing

the

best

possible

results

for

the

patient.
