Desigualdade regional da distribuição do crédito rural no brasil: 1999 a 2009

RESUMO
O crédito rural é uma importante política agrícola, que visa o desenvolvimento do setor rural. Portanto, o objetivo deste trabalho é calcular o grau de concentração do crédito rural entre as regiões do Brasil nos anos de 1999 a 2009, utilizando o índice de Gini. A distribuição do crédito foi analisada relacionando quantidade de estabelecimentos rurais com o número de contratos e com o montante liberado em cada ano. Os resultados indicaram que a maior concentração de contratos de crédito rural foi em 2000, enquanto a menorocorreu em 2006. Por outro lado, a maior concentração do valor foi em 2002 e a menor em 2006. Outro resultado obtido foi que a região Sul possui o maior acesso ao crédito rural e o maior volume de crédito em relação às outras regiões.

Regional distribution of rural credit in Brasil – 1999 a 2009

ABSTRACT
The rural credit is an important agricultural policy, which seeks to develop the rural sector. Therefore, this study aims to calculate the concentration index of the rural credit among the Brazilian regions between the years 1999 to 2009, utilizing the Gini index. The distribution of the credit was analyzed by relating the quantity of the rural establishments with the number of the contracts and the released amount in each year. The results indicated that the major concentration of rural credit contracts was in 2000, while the minor concentration occurred in 2006. On the other hand, the major concentration of rural credit amount was in 2002 and the minor in 2006. Another result gained was that the South region possesses the greater access to rural credit and the greater amount of credit in relation to the other regions.
