The Persistence of Memory, his best known work, is a small painting. The drooping watches show a human worried with time and memory. It also means that time is malleable, is not rigid but changeable, time is relative, past and present merge. The asleep head that appears in this painting, and in many others too, is the own Dali. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-gGKiOWmEkcQ/TVMv5q3iYgI/AAAAAAAAAws/a-sJ9K2jMgs/s1600/Metamorfose+de+Narciso+-+Salvador+Dali.jpg Metamorphosis of Narcissus (1937) is a painting based on Greek mythology according to which, Narcissus fell in love with his own reflection in the water and was turned into a flower by gods.
