CAPITAL SOCIAL E ORGANIZAÇÕES DA SOCIEDADE
CIVIL COMO INDICADORES DE DESENVOLVIMENTO
LOCAL

Resumo: Este artigo procura examinar a relação existente entre capital social e as novas organizações da sociedade civil. O capital social, segundo a teoria putnamniana, constitui-se como uma característica intrínseca às relações sociais que contribui diretamente para a consolidação da democracia participativa e o fortalecimento das organizações civis e, sendo assim, o capital social é estabelecido como fator de integração para o desenvolvimento local. Com o (re) surgimento da sociedade civil, a partir da década de 1990, constatou-se uma maior integração entre os cidadãos refletindo diretamente no crescimento do estoque de capital social. Apresentaremos uma comparação do panorama destas organizações nos anos de 2002 e 2005 a fim de elucidar as alterações sofridas e, também, a relação com outros indicadores de desenvolvimento local, buscando encontrar sinergias entre fenômenos sociais.

Abstract: This article examines the existent relation between the social capital and the new civil society organization.
The social capital, according to the theory putnaniana, constitutes as an intrinsic feature of social relations that directly contributes to the consolidation of participatory democracy and the strengthening of civil society organizations and, thus, social capital is established as a factor of integration for local development. With the (re) emergence of civil society, from the 1990s, there was greater integration among the people is directly reflected in the growth of the stock of social capital.
