BOTULISMO EM BOVINOS, DESCRIÇÃO DA DOENÇA E SEU IMPACTO NA
ECONOMIA

RESUMO
O botulismo é uma neurotoxina produzida pelo Clostridium botulinum, que causa principalmente paralisia da musculatura esquelética e pode acometer mamíferos, aves e peixes. O objetivo do trabalho foi reunir trabalhos citados na literatura com a finalidade de expor o que é e como ocorre o botulismo. O diagnostico é feito através da anamnese e exame físico e a confirmação é feita através de detecção de toxina no soro do conteúdo intestinal e no fígado. Mesmo que o animal tenha não tenha morrido por botulismo, seu cadáver pode ser fonte de intoxicação. Não existe tratamento economicamente viável mas a doença pode ser controlada com métodos preventivos, eliminando fonte de contaminação, vacinando o rebanho e dando-lhes suplementação mineral.

ABSTRACT
The botulism is a neurotoxin produced for the Clostridium botulinum, that root cause muscle paralyzing and can acometer mammals, birds and fish. The objective of the work was to congregate works cited in literature with the purpose to display what it is and as the botulism occurs. I diagnosis it is made through anamnese and physical examination and the confirmation is made through toxin detention in the serum of the intestinal content and in the liver. Exactly that the animal has not died for botulism, its corpse can be poisoning source. Viable treatment does not exist economically but the illness can be controlled with preventive methods, eliminating source of contamination, vaccine the flock and giving mineral supplement to them.
