GALEGOS, IMIGRANTES E COMERCIANTES: SÍRIO-LIBANESES NO CEARÁ

RESUMO: Este artigo pretende esboçar algumas considerações em torno da inserção dos imigrantes sírio-libaneses no estado do Ceará entre os últimos anos do século XIX e início do
XX, quando o crescimento comercial abrira diversas oportunidades para investimentos e muitos comerciantes adentraram importantes setores como roupas, sapatos e outros acessórios de joalherias, o que permitiu aos sírio-libaneses encontrarem um contexto favorável para vender mercadorias e abrir suas próprias lojas. Neste intuito, procurei delinear questões sobre a organização social destes imigrantes no Ceará, ressaltando o papel das redes comerciais em que atuavam e meios pelos quais buscaram negociar suas posições dentro da hierarquia comercial do Ceará.

ABSTRACT: This article intend to sketch some comments in lathe of the insertion of immigrants Syrians and Lebanese in the state of Ceará in Brazil between the last years of the nineteenth century and beginning of the twentieth, when the growth of the commerce was opening a lot of possibilities for investments and a lot of traders were interesting in important sectors, for example: dresses, shoes and others jewel accessories. So, the Syrian and Lebanese found a great context to sell their merchandises like an ambulant and to get their own store. I also looked for to create some questions about social organization these immigrants in the commerce and how they negotiate their positions inside hierarchy of the Ceará.
