Verbo to be

ma tradução ao “pé da letra” para to be tem em português o verbo ser e estar, em algumas situações o verbo ficar.
Paul is my brother. (Paul é meu irmão)
No presente podemos variar o verbo “to be”, depende da pessoa:

THEY ARE
Exemplos:

She is a good girl. (Ela é uma boa garota)
Robert and Peter are my friends. (Robert e Peter são meus amigos)
My dog is a Dalmatian. (Meu cão é um dálmata)

No passado podemos utilizar o verbo “to be” das seguintes maneiras:

Exemplos:
It was raining yesterday. (estava chovendo ontem)
They were in the kitchen. (eles estavam na cozinha)

No futuro do presente usa-se o Will com o verbo “to be”:

Exemplos:
I will be there at five o´clock. (estarei lá às cinco horas)
