Uma Leitura Possível da Crônica da Tomada de Ceuta, levando em conta a
Representação do Infante D. Henrique nessa obra de Zurara

Resumo: Nesse trabalho foi realizada uma análise sobre a primeira obra oficial do cronista-régio Gomes
Eanes de Zurara, a Crônica da Tomada de Ceuta (1449-50). Assim sendo, o recorte temporal e o tema geral desse trabalho é o início da Expansão Atlântica Portuguesa na primeira metade do século XV, suas estratégias políticas, meios de legitimação e, mais especificamente, como na obra de Zurara a imagem de D. Henrique foi construída e representou os valores do cavaleiro cristão, ideal que permeou a nobreza portuguesa e sua ação no Marrocos. Para a realização desse trabalho, procurou-se um método apropriado para a análise de uma crônica medieval, na qual foi analisado um conjunto de valores representados em um personagem. Então, se buscou na história cultural o cabedal teórico-metodológico pertinente a este trabalho, já que se trabalhou com representações e valores sociais.

Abstract: In this article we made an analysis about the first official chronicle of the chronicler Gomes
Eanes de Zurara, the Crônica da Tomada de Ceuta (1449-50). The period of time and the general subject of this article is the beginning of the Portuguese Atlantic Expansion in the first half of XV century, its political strategies and ways of legitimating, more specifically, how in the work of Zurara the image of
D. Henrique was made and how it represented the values of the cristian knight, ideal that continued in the thought of Portuguese nobility and in its action in Marrocco. To do this work, we have searched an appropriate method to analyze a medieval chronicle that has analyzed a group of values represented in a carachter.
