Poetic devices

For this project I choose the song "The Climb" written by Jéssica A ,Jessi Alexander and Jon Mabe. Most people when they hear the song they remember Miley Cyrus or the movie Hannah Montana but, sometimes they don't realize the message the song has. The message the song has is that there will always be battles trying to destroy your dream but with have you can win with faith. The song doesn't have any poetic advise but it has a strong message and doesn't need the music to make it effective. I think this song is different it can stand alone without the melody but won't be a like a poem. Starting from the beginning of the song where it says " I can almost see it /That dream I'm dreaming, but/ There's a voice inside my head saying/You'll never reach it." If we look at it in a Christian perspective, we can interpret this part like when you have a dream and you are doing everything to make it happen, you have faith that it will realize but then a person comes to you and say you are crazy trying to weaken your faith. To complete the message in the song the part where it says “The struggles I'm facing/ The chances I'm taking /Sometimes might knock me down, but/No I'm not breaking /I may not know it/But these are the moments that/I'm gonna remember most” when we put the two parts together a person will realize that if we have a dream and have to go to through battles to reach it, the battles that we go through are the moments that we are going to remember and those moments are the ones that strengthens our faith.
