O papel do enfermeiro frente à gripe influenza a (h1n1) RESUMO A nova enfermidade vulgarmente chamada de gripe suína e cientificamente nomeada de influenza A (H1N1), diante do seu alto poder de transmissibilidade, transformou-se rapidamente numa pandemia tornando-se uma emergência de saúde pública de importância internacional. Por se tratar de uma doença ainda pouco conhecida pela população, este estudo tem por objetivo analisar e divulgar as características cruciais dessa patologia, no intuito de unificar as ações preventivas e do cuidado, frente a uma perspectiva de enfermagem. Confirmou-se que a forma mais eficaz de controle é a vacinação e métodos simples e diários como o hábito de lavar as mãos frequentemente, em caso de suspeita de sintomas da enfermidade, procurar a junta médica. Em virtude do que foi visto o enfermeiro desempenha um papel fundamental no processo de intervenção em saúde, orientando a comunidade como se portar diante de caso suspeito, em acompanhamento ou confirmado.
