This standard has been prepared by CEN/TC 121 ‘Welding’ (Secretariat: Germany), Subcommittee 3 ‘Welding consumables’. The responsible German body involved in its preparation was the Normenausschuss Schweißtechnik (Welding Standards Committee), Joint Committee NA 092-00-03 AA Schweißzusätze (DVS AG W 5). The European Standards referred to in clause 2 and in the bibliography have been published as the corresponding DIN EN ISO Standards. A DIN Standard corresponding to ISO 31-0 does not exist. Amendments This standard differs from DIN 8555, November 1983 edition, as follows: a) The content of the European Standard has been adopted in its entirety. b) The standard has been restructured. c) The symbols have been completely changed. d) Clause 7 ‘Rounding off procedure’ and clause 8 ‘Retest’ have been included. e) Annex A dealing with application and supply forms has been included. Previous editions DIN 8555-1 Supplement 1: 1962-10, 1978-01 DIN 8555-1: 1956-10, 1962-10, 1978-01, 1983-11.
