RESUMO
O tema da religião tem sido polêmico em diversos aspectos, tomando mais espaço nos últimos séculos, a partir da filosofia iluminista e a sua consequente emancipação religiosa. Desta forma, o presente artigo trata de algumas questões que devem ser levantadas sobre a temática, partindo de alguns breves fundamentos metafísicos relevantes às formas de consciência, sobretudo no tangente ao fenômeno religioso. O texto apresenta o seguinte desdobramento argumentativo: A influência da religião na revolução francesa; conceitos sobre a religião e a questão da verdade; os elementos da religião na visão durkheimiana; religião, multiculturalismo e interculturalidade e o futuro da religião.

ABSTRACT
The topic of religion has been controversial in many aspects, taking more space in the last centuries, hence the iluminist philosophy and its consequent religious emancipation. Therefore, this paper manages to raise some questions about the subject, departing from some brief metaphysical elements relevant to the forms of consciousness, notedly in regard of the religious phenomena. Therefore, the text below presents the following arguments: 1. Prelude; 2. Influence of Religion in the French Revolution; 3. Notions Of Religion and the Matter of Truth; 4. The Elements of Religion in Durkheim; 5. Religion, Multiculturalism and Interculturalism; 6. The Future of Religion; 7. Conclusion.
