Introduction
The Ambev (formally Companhia de Bebidas das Americas) is the fourth largest brewery in the world and the leader in Latin America. With a market share of approximately 70% of Brazilian beer market and 18% of Brazilian soft drinks market she was born from the merger of two big Brazilian companies, Brahma and Antarctica. Today it owns a large number of brands in segments where it operates. These brands are originating from various companies that were incorporated during the growth of the company. (www.wikipedia.org)
The soft drink Guaraná Antarctica appeared in May 1921, created originally by the Antarctica Paulista Company and today the brand belongs to AmBev. The Guaraná Antarctica, originally called “Guaraná Antarctica Champagne” is a drink basically made from the syrup of Guaraná fruit, a native fruit from the Amazon rainforest. The formula is known and kept by only two people. (www.guaranaantarctica.com.br)
The company presented a drink with sparkling features, which lead to its association with champagne, a product regarded as a prestigious drink by consumers at that time. Its characteristics of flavor, aroma and body remain to this day unchanged.
