Foo fighters
After Kurt Cobain’s death in April 1994, Dave decided to record their compositions, that was sung and played all instruments by himself and he chose the name Foo Fighters that also is the name of his first album!
To sing live songs he decided to make a full band. The band was formed by Dave, the bassist Nate Mendel, drummer William Goldsmith and Pat Smear as guitarist.
During the recording of the second album, “The Colour and The Shape” in 1997, William decided to quit, because Dave was re-recording most of the drum parts by himself. He was replaced by Taylor Kawkins, AlanisMorissette’s drummer.
“There is Nothing Left to Lose” in 1998, is the band’s third album. After finish recording this album, arrived to the band, Chris Shiflett, the new guitar player.
Foo Fighters made other albums like, “One by One” in 2001, “In Your Honor” in 2005 and “Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace in 2007.
Over the course of the band’s career, they have won 11 Grammy Awards, winning 4 “Best Rock Album”.
The band has seven albums, the last one was released in 2011 and it’s call “Wasting Light”.
In last September 29, during the show at Global Citizen Festival, in front of more than 60 thousand people, Dave said he didn’t know when the band was going to play again, because they would be taking a break.
On his Facebook page, he wrote a note. That note said...
