Elevador canecas
This paper presents a project to automate the transport of material, alumina and crust, from one level to another by means of a bucket elevator in an aluminum production company, whose the main objective are reduce the waste material, maintenance time due to a failure (breakage of any component of the process) and unnecessary wear of the equipment involved. Wherefore, to avoid these problems and make the necessary automation and process control, it’s necessary a monitoring current of the motor of the bucket elevator using a smart electronic relay, and act up on rotary valves and screw conveyors, which are responsible for the dumping of material in the elevator, thereby obtaining a control of the amount of material transported by these equipments. A PLC (programmable logic controller) is responsible for overall supervision of the process and all devices are properly connected by PROFIBUS DP network, open standard industrial communication for high-speed field level. Resumo Este artigo apresenta um projeto de automação de transporte de materiais, alumina e crosta, de um nível para outro por meio de um elevador de canecas em uma empresa de produção de alumínio. Tendo como objetivo principal reduzir o desperdício de material, o tempo de manutenção devido a falhas (quebra de algum componente do processo) e ao desgaste desnecessário dos equipamentos envolvidos.
