1. ENGLISH’S STORY
English is, today, the most influent language in the world but how did this happen? Why English, and not Portuguese, French, German or any other language? The story of English is a complex one, with a lot of events and changes, and it has your begin in a long time ago.
Everything started with the first traces of human presence in the British Isles before the last Ice Age, when they hadn’t separated from the European continent to form the English Channel yet. The Celts start the whole story of English, in England, with his occupation of the region. Later, with the Roman invasion of the territory, they feel obligated to loose their control over the region, and this fact contributes to a very strong influence of roman habits and costumes in the Celt tribes located in that region of England. These influences were the first ones suffered by those people because after all the period of long invasions by the Roman Empire, they started going through difficulties that made them remove themselves from the British territory that resulted in the Celt people “abandonment” and the subsequent occupation by German people, including Jutes, Angles and Saxons, that became opportunist invaders who destroyed the towns and massacred the Celts who were, then,
