Critical Review
The book Atlas of the European Novel by Franco Moretti brings to us a general idea of Jane Austen´s six novel based in point of view of geographical space´s literature as well as the nation- state. To introduce the subject, the author in the first point closes our attention in a map that is important to understand how necessary the spaces are in the novels and when some novels begin and where finish in the same plot. “Northanger Abbey, for example begins in Fullen and finished in Woodston; Sense and Sensibility, in Norland Park and in Delaford”, so on. In Jane Austen´s novel according to the author is easy notice that she wrote about a small part of England, only the south as farmhouses, hills etc. The space here is fictional based in real, otherwise it is not real as seems to be, some cities doesn´t exists in real, is created in author´s mind and transferred to their novels.
On the other hand, the notion of heroine mobility in novels begins at home with the family and finished in her husband house. Most novels intended approaches the matter of marry in plot and how women is order in society. It´s mean that in Austen´s novel the people marry with other that belongs the same nation and obviously the marriage only is able to work out if the women feel at home. Meanwhile in XIX century the novel enter to configure the space of the nation–state the central idea about it is to create a sense of community that living in the same space requires share the same
