The aging process in the healthy individual is related to many psychological and physical changes that interfere with the motor area, contributing to inactivity and contributing to the emergence and worsening of certain diseases, and negatively influence the performance of activities of daily living. Therefore, physical activity is important for the elderly, not only in preventing diseases such as rehabilitation of their motor skills, promoting a healthy lifestyle is a major factor in improving the quality of life. The aerobics is one of the forms of physical activity that has stood out to contribute to a healthier aging as it is an activity carried out in the water, whose property assists in execution of the exercise and is also an activity that has less impact. It is necessary to invest in aerobics for the population especially in the elderly, which seeks at present this exercise. It provides the elderly increasing your aerobic capacity, muscle strength, joint flexibility and training of specific skills such as balance and coordination. Added to the fact that this activity offer relaxing environment and encouraging social contact, working to combat stress, depression, improving auto body perception and self-esteem. We must therefore be attentive to the particularities of gymnastics in order to enjoy all the benefits it offers to the exercise program directed to the elderly.
