Relação morfoecologica do mapeamento das penas

Resumo
As penas possuem papel fundamental nas aves, das quais destaca-se o isolamento térmico. Este trabalho visou descrever as penas do pinguim-de-magalhães quanto ao tipo e tamanho de algumas estruturas relacionando com a ecologia da espécie. O trabalho foi realizado no Centro de Recuperação de Animais Marinhos – CRAM, Rio Grande, RS. Foram coletadas penas de 17 indivíduos juvenis e o corpo foi setorizado em cinco regiões para delimitar os pontos a serem coletados. De modo geral, as penas com o vexilo mais longo estão situadas na região inferior da ave, na cauda (região que tem menos atrito com a água durante a natação e que garante maior aquecimento do ovo durante a nidificação, por isso essas penas são maiores); e as penas menores situam-se nas aletas e na região lorial da ave, garantindo maior agilidade na natação. Enquanto que na região mediana o tamanho do vexilo, que fica fora do corpo não possui muita diferença de tamanho.

Abstract
The feathers have a central role in the birds, of which the highlight was the insulation. This study aimed to describe the pains of Magellanic penguin on the type, size of some structures linking the ecology of the species. The work was performed at the Centro de Recuperação de Animais Marinhos - CRAM, Rio Grande, RS. Feathers were collected from 17 young individuals and the body was seteriorizado in five regions to delimit the points to be collected.
