London Eye

London Eye , also known as the Millennium Wheel , is a Ferris wheel in London , it is a spectacular building . The Ferris wheel is huge and offers an incredible view of the city. London Eye was built in 1999 and has 135 feet tall , and is the tallest ferris wheel in Europe and one of the most popular tourist attractions in London. Structure of the London Eye The engineering and architecture are impressive London Eye , the giant wheel as is sustained by a structure in the form of "A" on one side only , with steel straps similar to a bicycle wheel . The whole structure London Eye weighs 1,700 tons . London Eye consists of 32 cabins , each cabin weighs 10 tons and can carry up to 25 people . The cabins have an oval shape and are air - conditioned . Visitors stand to enjoy the view , but all cabins have a seat in the center for those who prefer to sit . London eye rotates 26cm per second , taking 30 minutes to make one complete rotation. Providing an enjoyable ride and a breathtaking view of the British capital . The wheel maintains a constant speed and the passengers enter and leave the cabin with the giant spinning wheel , because as the rotation is slow there is enough time for passengers to enter and come out . Location : London Eye is located on the bank of the river Thames in Jubilee Gardens , South Bank , close to the Westminster Palace and Big Ben.
