Resumo
O artigo aborda a busca da figura heróica nas personagens de RPG. O autor postula como

sua premissa inicial a noção consensual de praticantes e editoras de RPG de que as personagens dos jogadores são figuras heróicas. A busca começa quando ao aplicar o RPG para fins educacionais, o autor se depara com alunos criando personagens que se distanciam do que ele e outros praticantes de RPG reconheciam como figuras heróicas. É feita uma análise da figura do herói pelo imaginário descrito por Joseph Campbell em "The Hero with a Thousand Faces" e pelo simbólico no texto "Totem e Tabu" de Sigmund Freud. O desenho Hércules, da Disney, é usado para ilustrar alguns dos pontos discutidos. Uma primeira formulação simbólica das figuras do herói e do tirano é feita.

Abstract
The article approaches the search for the heroic figure in the RPG characters. The author postulates as his initial premise the consensual notion of the RPG fans and companies that the player characters are heroic figures. The search begins when while applying RPG to educational purposes, the author is confronted with students creating characters that are far from what he and other RPG players recognized as heroic figures. An analysis is made of the heroic figure through the imaginary described by Joseph Campbell em "The Hero with a Thousand Faces" and through the symbolic in the text "Totem e Tabu" by Sigmund Freud. The cartoon Hercules, from Disney, is used to illustrate some of the points discussed. A first symbolic formulation of the figures of the hero and the tyrant is made.
