Inglês advérbios
• São palavras que podem modificar um:
- verbo: She drives SLOWLY.
- adjetivo: She drives a VERY slow car.
- advérbio: She drives QUITE slowly to work.
TIME
Descrevem quando algo acontece;
Eg: TODAY, TOMORROW, YESTERDAY, NOW, LATER, SOON, EARLY, NOWADAYS, CURRENTLY, JUST, THEN, WHILE, WHEN, ALREADY, YET, ETC.
• Advérbios como ALREADY e YET podem ter o mesmo significado:
- Have you bought the tickets, YET? - Have you ALREADY bought the tickets?
PLACE
Descrevem onde algo acontece;
Eg: HERE, THERE, EVERYWHERE, NOWHERE, ANYWHERE, WHEREVER, UPSTAIRS, DOWNSTAIRS, INSIDE, OUTSIDE, NEARBY, ETC.
• Advérbios como ANYWHERE e WHEREVER podem ter o mesmo significado:
- I will go WHEREVER you will go; - I will go ANYWHERE you will go;
MANNER
Descrevem como algo acontece;
Eg: EASILY, SPECIALLY, SLOWLY, KINDLY, FLUENTLY, CAREFULLY, QUIETLY, PATIENTLY, ETC.
• Advérbios como FAST, HARD, EARLY e LATE não modificam sua forma original;
- Jane drives a fast car. (adjective) - Jane driver her car fast. (adverb)
INTENSITY
Usados para intensificar verbos, adjetivos ou outro advérbios;
Eg: VERY, REALLY, SIMPLY, COMPLETELY, ABSOLUTELY, A LOT, A LITTLE, ALMOST, QUITE, FAIRLY, BARELY, NEARLY, ECT.
• Advérbios como PRETTY, TOO e SO podem ter outros signficados e funções além de advérbios;
- She is pretty/ It was PRETTY expensive - I like pizza, too/ He is TOO dangerous - So, let’s go home/ I am SO tired today
FREQUENCY
Descrevem com que frequência algo acontece:
Eg: ALWAYS, USUALLY/GENERALLY, OFTEN/ FREQUENTLY, SOMETIMES/OCCASIONALLY, RARELY/SELDOM/HARDLY EVER, NEVER, ETC.
• EVERYDAY exerce a função de adjetivo, enquanto que EVERY DAY exerce a função de advérbio:
- This is my EVERYDAY wear. (adjective) - I wear this EVERY DAY at work. (adverb)
