ABSTRACT

PortalTSI.net is a web portal with information related to Technologies and Information Systems.
Its mission is to promote and to divulge specialized information about technologies and information systems in a strictly structured way. Its primary objective is to become a reference as an information source to several users such investigators, teachers, students and both public and private entities.
The main goals of this project are the conception, specification and implementation of a system to improve the PortalTSI.net back office performance.
In this way it was intended to give PortalTSI.net improved functionalities to manage its users, its contents and to make the publications of its information much more efficient.
To do so we used UML techniques and with them we have modeled the system. As a result we obtained four Use Case diagrams with their specification, one Class diagram and two Statechart diagrams. After the UML model was ready it was written the necessary code to build the application using ASP technology. To connect the application to an existent Microsoft Access database we have used ODBC.
