The videocassette recorder (or VCR, also known as the video recorder) is an electro-mechanical device that records audio and video from broadcast television on a removable, magnetic tape videocassette, so that the images and sound can be played back at a more convenient time.
Most of the domestic VCRs are equipped with a tuner (that is a television broadcast receiver) for reception and with timer in order to record specific programs at a certain time.
The first VCR was invented by Charles Paulson Ginsburg in 1956 for Ampex it was named of VRX-1000. It was very expensive for that time so it was only used by Television networks and other professional and industrial activities.
The first home VCR was produced seven years later on 1963 by Nottingham Electronic Valve Company. The Telcan (the first home VCR) was expensive, difficult to put together and it only could record 20 minutes on black and white.
The use of VCR started to become obsolete in the 21st century because of DVDs new formats and Blu-Ray recorders.

The typewriter was originally invented by Henri Mill in 1714. Since that year it as suffered many modifications in order to improve the writing method.
In that epoch the typewriter was the fastest way to write, so it began to gain importance and it began to be used by many people.
In the XX century the typewriter lost it’s place to the computer which is a lot faster. Nowadays few people use and prefer the typewriter.
The vantages are that it doesn’t need electricity and the paper is printed at that exact moment.
The disadvantages are that if you misspell the word it is very hard to correct it.
