Abstract: The quality improvement of products and services has been the focus of the building companies. For so much, the companies need to produce better, in a more effective way and in more human conditions for your employees. This study shows the importance of the ergonomic concepts into the building sector. Initially, general aspects were analyzed and related with the work conditions in a specific building site, where it was observed several factors as: the physical environment, the workers' facilities, the organization of the building site and some aspects associated with the work security. Later on, the position of the masonry bricklayer's work was analyzed. Starting from the removal of the variables that interfere in the worker's activities for the accomplishment of the task it was possible to do a diagnosis and to propose changes that provide better work conditions at the same time in that it induces an increase in the services quality and in the productivity of the building site.
