RESUMO
O estudo de abordagem qualitativa teve como objetivo identificar os fatores que dificultam na atuação do enfermeiro no incentivo ao AME. O AME contribui para a redução do desmame precoce, desnutrição e do índice de morbi-mortalidade infantil, ajudando na qualidade de vida dos lactentes, e o papel do enfermeiro neste processo é importante para ajudar as gestantes e nutrizes na cccompreensão das vantagens e benefícios dessa prática. Os dados foram coletados através de artigos da língua portuguesa, relacionados ao AME e que já foram publicados anteriormente. Os resultados mostraram os benefícios do AME para a mãe e o filho. Da mesma forma, o estudo traz também, a importância da atuação da enfermagem durante o AME para mãe e filho.

ABSTRACT
The qualitative study aimed to identify the factors that hinder the work of nurses in encouraging AME. The AME contributes to the reduction of early weaning, malnutrition and the rate of infant morbidity and mortality, helping the quality of life of infants, and the nurse's role in this process is important to help pregnant women and nursing mothers in understanding the advantages and benefits of this practice. Data were collected through articles of the Portuguese language, related to AME and have been previously published. The results showed the benefits of exclusive breastfeeding for mother and child. Likewise, the study also brings the importance of nursing activities during the AME for nursing activities during the AME for mother and child.
