RESUMO

Entender a instituição social onde jovem cumpre penas restritivas de liberdade é de fundamental importância para a sociedade contemporânea. Nesta perspectiva, como arcabouço teórico recorreu-se às contribuições de Bourdieu, Berger & Berger e Foucault, para apreender os sentidos dos conceitos necessários para maior amplitude de discussão do tema. Peter Berger & Brigitte Berger discutem a constituição estrutural e funcional de uma instituição social elevando-a para uma recorrência à linguagem e Michel Foucault desenvolve os conceitos acerca das relações de poder e a disciplina, formando então, uma base teórica para análise e melhor compreensão da temática. Recorre-se também ao conceito de violência simbólica de Bourdieu (2007) para entender as discursividades da educação que perpassa a principal representação que a sociedade quer fazer crer ser o objetivo destas unidades socioeducativas.

ABSTRACT

Understanding the social institution where young meets penalties restricting freedom is of fundamental importance to contemporary society. In this perspective, as theoretical framework we resorted to Bourdieu's contributions, Berger & Berger and Foucault, for learning the meanings of the concepts necessary for the furtherance of discussion of the topic. Peter Berger & Berger Brigitte discuss the structural and functional constitution of a social institution raising this to a recurrence of language and Michel Foucault develops the concepts of the relations of power and discipline, forming then a theoretical basis for analysis and better understanding of theme. It also refers to the concept of symbolic violence of Bourdieu
