LUZIA-HOMEM DE DOMINGOS OLÍMPIO OBRA NATURALISTA-REGIONALISTA

RESUMO

Considerado um clássico do gênero Ciclo das Secas, da Literatura Nordestina, Luzia-Homem, a figura da mulher guerreira que constrói através da obra de Domingos Olimpio, é um exemplo do Naturalismo regionalista. O presente trabalho tem por objetivo identificar características do naturalismo regionalista com o cientificismo. Marcado pela fala característica dos personagens, Luzia-Homem mantém duas características clássicas do Naturalismo por toda obra: o cientificismo na linguagem do narrador e o determinismo (teoria de que o homem é definido pelo meio) e o vínculo com o realismo sertanejo, que alguns chamam de regionalismo. A obra também se vincula ao realismo sertanejo, - que alguns chamam de regionalismo - apresentando com tintas carregadas o flagelo da seca em sua região, ao mesmo tempo em que enfoca a força física e moral da sertaneja Luzia, criatura intermediária entre dois sexos, o corpo quase másculo numa alma feminina.

ABSTRACT:

Considered a classic of the genre Cycle of Drought, the Northeastern Literature, Luzia-Man, the figure of the warrior woman building through the work of Dominic Olympian, is an example of Regionalist Naturalism. This study aims to identify characteristics of regionalist naturalism with scientism.
