ASCENSÃO E LEGITIMAÇÃO DE ALEXANDRE, O
GRANDE, NA ANÁBASE DE ALEXANDRE MAGNO DE
ARRIANO DE NICOMÉDIA

RESUMO: O presente artigo traz uma análise do processo de ascensão e legitimação de Alexandre, o Grande, com base na obra Anábase de Alexandre
Magno, de Arriano de Nicomédia. Escrevendo no século II d.C., este autor compôs uma história que privilegiou os aspectos políticos e militares da vida de Alexandre, na qual ressalta de forma implícita o bom exemplo de suas ações e comportamento.
Ou seja, de sua notável liderança. Discutimos aqui o modo como a figura histórica de Alexandre foi construída, buscando compreender os possíveis interesses de
Arriano por detrás desta narrativa. Ao mesmo tempo tentamos nos aproximar de um Alexandre histórico através dela, apontando as características de um período
(que vai de 336 a 334 a.C.) no qual ele consolidou, estrategicamente, sua posição enquanto rei macedônio e hegemon dos gregos.

ABSTRACT: This article provides an analysis of the process of rise and legitimacy of Alexander the Great, based on the work Anabasis of Alexander, from
Arrian of Nicomedia. Writing in the second century AD, he composed a story that focused on the political and military aspects of Alexander's life, which emerges by implication the good example of his actions and behavior. That is, of its outstanding leadership. We discuss here how the historical figure of Alexander was built, seeking rightly understand the possible interests of Arrian behind this narrative. At the same time we try to approach a historical Alexandre through it, showing the characteristics of a period (which goes from 336 to 334 BC) in which he consolidated, strategically, his position as Macedonian king and Greek hegemon.
