RESUMO
Quando uma criança inicia uma determinada modalidade esportiva, seja por seu desejo ou por influencia de pessoas próximas, a maior dificuldade é permanecer nessa pratica, devido a vários fatores motivacionais. Este estudo teve como objetivo analisar, na visão do treinador, os motivos que influenciam crianças a iniciarem, permanecerem e abandonarem a prática do Handebol. A metodologia utilizada foi à investigação qualitativa, do tipo descritivo e interpretativo. Esta pesquisa propõe, através de entrevistas semi-estruturadas com treinadores de handebol da cidade de Curitiba, uma análise de resultados, e com o auxílio da literatura, uma reflexão dos motivos de busca, permanência e abandono da prática esportiva. Foram entrevistados 06 professores treinadores na área de iniciação esportiva no handebol, os quais foram interrogados sobre o tema em questão. Nas considerações finais, verificou-se que muitos motivos interferem tanto na busca, como na permanência e no abandono da prática do Handebol pelas crianças.

ABSTRACT
When a child starts a particular Sport, is it your desire or influence of friends, the retest difficulty is to stay in this practice, due to various motivational factors. This study aimed to analyze, in view of the coach, the motives that influence children to start, stay and leave the practice of handball. The research methodology was qualitative, descriptive and interpretative. This research proposes, through semi-structured interviews with coaches’ handball in the city of Curitiba, an analysis of results, and with the aid of literature, a reflection of the grounds for search, storage and abandonment of the practice of sports.
