Leonardo da vinci
It was the period of the renaissance when Leonardo da Vinci was born, in 1452, in a farmhouse in Anchiano, Italy. His father was a public notary and his mother moved away shortly after he was born. Growing up on a family farm, Leonardo could easily study nature.
He was highly interested in the study of human anatomy, and he wanted to understand the body parts and functions. Another area of science Leonardo da Vinci showed interest in was mechanics. He produced designs for ideas such as aircrafts, helicopters, and a flying machine.
With an I.Q. of 220, Leonardo was not only a genius in the traditional meaning of the word he was also an artistic genius. His creations of art and advancements in science not only surpassed those of his time, but have contributed to the fundamentals of modern day technology.
One of his portraits, Mona Lisa, is probably the most famous portrait in art history. There is much speculation over who the woman is and over her mysterious smile. Da Vinci’s work will amaze and inspire us for generations to come.
