Faculdade Anhanguera de Passo Fundo [e-mail] O objetivo deste estudo é mostrar a importância da leitura no cotidiano das pessoas, principalmente os operadores do Direito. Nesse sentido, este artigo se volta à discussão e à apresentação de alguns desses fatores. Busca-se aqui, inicialmente, apontar algumas das razões por que os alunos têm mais facilidade para falar do que para escrever. Também são citados os principais níveis de linguagem (culto, coloquial, técnico) e a importância de adequar a linguagem ao contexto situacional e ao receptor, principalmente, a variante jurídica. Ler, enfim, é pressuposto básico para expressar-se com clareza e precisão em qualquer situação comunicativa e, principalmente, para se atingir um nível satisfatório de abstração de idéias, requisito este básico para os profissionais do Direito e de qualquer área cujo instrumento de trabalho seja a palavra.

ABSTRACT
The objective of this study is to show the importance of the reading in the daily one of the people, mainly the operators of the Law. In this direction, this article comes back to the discussion and to the presentation of some of these factors. One searches here, initially, to point some of the reasons why the pupils have more easiness to speak than to write. Also are cited the main levels of language (cultured, daily, technician) and the importance to adjust the language to the usual context and the receiver, mainly, the legal variant.
