RESUMO

Este trabalho teve como principal proposta discutir a violência contra a mulher e a legislação que favorece proteção contra esse fenômeno cultural-social, que não favorece dignidade existencial às mulheres. Para tanto se buscou realizar uma pesquisa através de revisão de literatura com consulta a sites e livros específicos, tendo como critério de seleção de material a ser consultado as palavras chaves desse estudo. Também se realizou pesquisa documental, onde se buscou levantar as diversas legislações que vêm falar da necessidade de proteção da mulher contra atos de violência. Ao termino desse estudo se verificou que a mulher ainda na contemporaneidade embora se tenha conquistado a promulgação de diversas leis que a protejam, ainda é tratada como propriedade do homem, sofrendo atos de violência em diversos níveis.

ABSTRACT
This work was mainly aimed at discussing violence against women and legislation that favors protection against this cultural and social phenomenon that does not favor existential dignity to women. For that we tried to do a search through the literature review in consultation with the specific sites and books, and as a criterion for selection of material to be found the key words of this study. Also conducted documentary research, where we tried to investigate the various laws that have been talking about the need for protection of women against violence. At the end of this study we found that women in the contemporary yet although it has conquered the enactment of various laws that protect, is still treated as the property of men, suffering violence at various levels.
