ABSTRACT::.
The changes which have been ocurred in the construction sector, specifically at the edification sub-sector, have had support in the studies which have been developed about this sector reality. Those changes happened obter the introduction of the productivity and quality programs. The frequency of these studies is getting higher every day and its majority is turned toward the rationalization of the production, focusing on questions such management in construction, methods and worker's qualification.The knowledge about the reality of the construction workers with respect their work conditions and the impact over their health are important to allow corrections necessary to preserve their quality of life.
The present study is about the workers of edification sub-sector in the CARIRI region of the Ceará state. It includes the districts of Juazeiro do Norte, Crato and Barbalha. It showed the lack of data about the work conditions and the health of the workers in the region.
The study will draw a profile of employees ( accidents, protective equipaments, medical exams, food, etc.) and of the employers ( technology, organizaction, etc.).
