José Maria De Eça de Queirós was born, in Póvoa de Varzim, Portugal, in 25th November 18450 and died at 16th of August in 1900. He is one of the best Portuguese writers. He is sun of José Maria Teixeira Queirós born in Rio de Janeiro in 1820 and Carolina Augusta Pereira d’Eça born in Monção in 1826.
At the age of 16, he went to Coimbra to study law at the University of Coimbra there he had met Antero de Quental (a Portuguese poet).Eça first work was series of propose poems, published on Gazeta de Portugal magazine which eventually appeared in book form. He worked as a journalist at Évora, then returned to Lisbon and, with his former school friend Ramalho Ortigão and others, created the Correspondence of the fictional adventurer Fradique Mendes. This amusing work was first published in 1900.
In 1866, Eça de Queirós as completed a degree in law at the University of Coimbra. Thant he was a director of a magazine called as O Distrito de Évora .
