RESUMO

O presente trabalho apresenta a relação entre a biblioteca e o processo da tecnologia da informação que tem contribuído para a existência de uma grande variedade de softwares para automação de bibliotecas no mercado brasileiro: gratuitos, livres, comerciais, para grandes ou pequenos acervos. Aborda os principais requisitos que um Sistema de Automação de Bibliotecas deve possuir no momento da sua escolha, considerando aspectos, tais como: a que público o software é destinado, quais os problemas que podem ser solucionados com a informatização, o tipo de acervo existente, entre outros. Apresenta os requisitos, Plataforma de Desenvolvimento, Linguagens e Sistemas Gerenciadores de Banco de Dados para a confecção do Sistema de Automação Biblio Control, com base nos modelos de softwares existente neste seguimento.

ABSTRACT

This study presents the relationship between the library and the process of information technology which has contributed to the existence of a wide variety of software for library automation in Brazilian market: free of charge, royalty free, commercial, specialized for large or small collections. Approaches the main requirement that an Automation System Libraries should have at the time of your choice considering aspects such as the public that the software is designed to, problems which can be solved with computerization, the type of the existing collections, among others. It features the requirements, Platforms, Languages and Systems Management Database for the development of Library Automation Control System based on the software models considered important for the new system shaping.
