POLUIÇÃO ATMOSFÉRICA E EXPOSIÇÃO HUMANA: A EPIDEMIOLOGIA
INFLUENCIANDO AS POLÍTICAS PÚBLICAS

Resumo
A poluição do ar passou por diversos estágios de involução de sua qualidade e seu poder maléfico e silencioso assola a saúde da população urbana. O enfoque jurídico e médico são complementares no entendimento e tomada de decisões governamentais. Os efeitos negativos da poluição atmosférica são evidenciados por meio de estudos científicos notadamente aqueles que se debruçam em comprovar os transtornos respiratórios, cardiovasculares e a exacerbação de comorbidades pré existentes, passando pelos problemas de fertilidade, aumento de abortos e prematuridade. Os grandes centros urbanos são alvo do ar mais poluído em razão principalmente de sua crescente frota veicular ainda inadequada tecnicamente em termos de redução de emissão. O que se almeja para um futuro bem próximo é a tomada de decisões governamentais mais enérgicas em meio e embasadas nos estudos epidemiológicos que evidenciam os efeitos nocivos da poluição atmosférica na saúde humana.

Abstract
Air pollution has gone through several stages of involution in its quality and this malefic and silent power reflects on the urban population health. The legal and medical approaches are complementary in understanding the theme and government in terms of decision-making. The negative effects of air pollution are shown through scientific studies especially those that focus on evidence-disordered breathing, cardiovascular and exacerbation of preexisting comorbidities, going through fertility problems, increased miscarriage and prematurity. Large urban centers are the targets from the air more polluted mainly due to theirs growing fleet of vehicles still technically inadequate in terms of emission reductions. What it aims for the near future is closer government environmental decisions
