Trabalho apresentado à disciplina de Direito Constitucional com o objetivo de fornecer noções gerais a cerca do papel do policial militar nas manifestações populares no Estado Democrático de Direito.

RESUMO
De acordo com o que preconiza o Estado Democrático de Direito e a Constituição do Brasil, o direito a organizar e participar de manifestações populares lícitas é assegurado ao cidadão. Durante essas manifestações, faz-se necessário o acompanhamento policial para garantir o direito de se manifestar, a manutenção da ordem e a segurança não só dos participantes, mas da população como um todo. Assim, este trabalho visa discutir o papel ideal e o comportamento da polícia durante os protestos.

ABSTRACT
According to what advocates Democratic State and the Constitution of Brazil, the right to organize and participate in lawful demonstrations popular is secured to the citizen. During these events, it is necessary to follow the police to ensure the right to manifest, the maintenance of order and security of not only the participants, but the population as a whole. Thus, this paper aims to discuss the ideal role and behavior of the police during the protests.
