THE REALITY OF THE SCHOOL SUPERVISION IN SÃO JOÃO
DO POLÊSINE

RESUMO
Neste trabalho, apresenta-se um estudo comparativo entre a teoria presente na bibliografia e na legislação educacional sobre supervisão escolar e as funções esperadas do profissional desse setor nas instituições educacionais. Para isso, foi feita uma revisão na bibliografia e na legislação educacional, além de entrevistas semi-estuturadas com cinco supervisoras que atuam em três escolas públicas da cidade de São João do Polêsine, sendo uma das escolas da rede municipal e duas da rede estadual. O resultado da pesquisa comprovou que há uma distância entre o ideal de supervisão descrito na bibliografia e legislação em relação às atividades desenvolvidas pelas supervisoras nas escolas pesquisadas e o trabalho das supervisoras pouco tem contribuído para a melhoria do trabalho docente e a aprendizagem dos alunos.

ABSTRACT
This research presents a comparative study between bibliographic theory and practice in educational laws over scholar supervisions and their function in educational institutions. A study in the bibliographic and in educational policy was made, along with semi structured interviews with five supervisors, who are working in three different schools. One is a municipal school and the two others are state schools. The results of this research confirmed that there is a distance between the ideal supervision described in the bibliography and the real work, because it has insufficiently contributed for the teachers’ work and the students’ learning.
