Resumo

A correção monetária integral fornece maior transparência às informações provenientes das demonstrações contábeis, sendo expressa como um sistema que visa à elaboração das demonstrações em uma única moeda para todos os seus componentes, explicitando assim, o efeito inflacionário sobre cada conta. A proposta deste trabalho é verificar a importância de se fazer a correção integral nas demonstrações contábeis, e de se saber os motivos que levam uma empresa a fazer a referida correção, sendo que esta não é mais obrigatória por lei, desde 1996. Para tanto será abordado um breve histórico da correção monetária no Brasil, a importância da correção monetária integral nas demonstrações financeiras e um estudo de caso com a empresa COPEL.

Abstract

The Integral indexation supplies larger transparency to the coming information of the accounting demonstrations, being expressed as a system that seeks the elaboration of the demonstrations in an only coin for all its components, explicitly like this, the inflationary effect on each bill. The proposal of this work is to verify the importance of doing the integral correction in the accounting demonstrations, and of knowing the reasons that take a company to do it referred correction, and this is not more obligatory for law, since 1996. For so much a brief one will be approached historical of the indexation in Brazil, the importance of the Integral indexation in the financial demonstrations and a case study with the company COPEL.
